AFTER finishing university, I went to Venice for a long weekend with my parents. On the plane I noticed a woman’s watch from a few aisles away, and realised I’d been missing out on a key accessory and decided I needed to invest in one. While we were away I bought a beautiful oversized men’s watch, and since then I’ve created quite a collection.
I love picking out unusual watches, so when I was approached by Jord Wood Watches to review a product from their women’s range it was a match made in heaven*. I’d never come across wooden watches before, and loved browsing the website looking at all the different styles and colours.
I’d usually play it safe and choose grey – my go-to colour – but decided to step out of my comfort zone with the Cora design in koa and rose gold. It has a beautiful pale pink face, with Swarovski crystal markers and golden hands. I was so excited when we arrived home from our recent holiday to find my watch had arrived in a stunning wooden box and hessian cushion.
I’d been a bit unsure about choosing the pink face, but I was so pleased I did as the shade reminds me of the golden sunsets I loved while we were away in France. It’s so subtle it will go with anything, and the crystals mean it can easily be dressed up for the evening.
The wooden strap means each one is a unique watch, with different shades and patterns. It’s nice and chunky, which I love as I’m a big fan of stand-out timepieces, but is as light as a regular leather watch. It’s a great size for Ezra to grab hold of too, and keeps him entertained when we’re out and about.
Being autumn, the golden colour of the wood is the perfect accessory with chunky knits and my new burgundy boots – this is a combination I’ll be wearing lots of over the next few weeks! I’ve also worn it to lighten up all-black outfits, and it is feminine enough to work with my pale pink pleated skirt … it’s so versatile!
Christmas is coming up, and a Jord Watch would make a great gift for a loved one (or yourself!). There’s a great competition to win $75 to spend online, which you can enter by clicking here. Everyone who enters will be given a $20 voucher to put towards a watch of their own … go on, give it a go!
